comfort in failure

God's purpose for every believer is that each of us would daily become more like Jesus.

...Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. ~ Ephesians 5:25-27

...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:6

That certainly is good news; but wait, there's more!

The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand." ~ Isaiah 14:24

No matter how many times you and I fail, God's plan for each of us cannot be thwarted. My inadequacies are pathetically weak in comparison to his sovereign plan for me, which is glorious (see above)... and the same is true for every follower of Jesus Christ.

Now that's something to shout about!
