Sometimes I purposefully cut through our local hospital's parking lot on my way across town, despite the fact that the speed limit is 15mph, and the way is peppered with crosswalks. I like the reminder to s-l-o-w d-o-w-n. The sight is always spiritually rich: today, an adorable elderly man minces across the street accompanied by a waddling, hugely pregnant woman, while a wheel-chair-bound patient is pushed through the doors of the oncology center. As this drama unfolds, we commuters inch along, taking extra care.
Don't you wish there was a slow zone like this in life, for those of us who are feeling spiritually weak, and emotionally spent? Another reason to long for heaven.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ~ Matthew 5:3
So mature of you to see it this way instead of feeling inconvenienced by the pedestrians. We all need to s-l-o-w down...
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Yes, there are so many days that we need the slow lane. Instead, we seem to frequent either the fast-paced, uber-urgent passing lane, zooming by life at top speeds, or we're moms in the High Occupancy Vehicle lane, bearing the burdens of those around us.
ReplyDeleteToday, we will be on the lookout for the slow lane! Be blessed in all you do.
